Magic Bird Cage Paddles

Show a paddle with a parrot on one side. He vanishes. Explain that he just flies under the paddle and turn the paddle over. There he is. You can hand the spectator the paddle at this point. He will eventually ask you to do it again. Take the paddle back and again the bird vanishes but this time he is gone. Both sides of the paddle are blank. Look around and try to figure out where he went. Up the spectator's sleeve is a good place. Place the tip of the paddle up the sleeve and remove it. The parrot is back. Apologize saying you don't have him completely trained and will have to put him back in his cage. Now show a second paddle with an empty cage printed on both hides. Holding a paddle in each hand, the bird leaves the first paddle and appears in the cage. Show the first paddle blank on both sides and put it away. Hand the spectator the cage paddle which now contains the bird. A quickie they will remember, this is perfect for the restaurant worker as there is no set up and it is always ready.
